This here watch, they call it the Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph, is something else. My grandson, he’s always on about these fancy things. Says it’s a “replica,” a good one, like the real deal but not so pricey. He calls it the “Original order.” What does that mean?
This one, it’s got two faces, like some folks I know. You flip it over, and it’s a whole different look. One side, it’s all plain and simple, like Sunday best. The other, you can see all the insides working, like a chicken with its guts hanging out. Not pretty, but kinda interesting I guess.
What’s so special about this watch?
Well, they say it’s a copy of a real fancy watch. A watch for old folks, he said. I guess I am old. But it don’t look old. Looks good with anything. Jeans, them sneakers the kids wear, even a regular shirt. They say it’s a sports watch. From 1931, a long time ago. They were tougher back then. Like my old man, God rest his soul.

Some folks get all worked up about real or fake. Like them handbags the city girls carry. This one, it’s a “replica,” they say. Not the real Jaeger-LeCoultre, but close enough. Looks the same to me. And it tells the time just fine. That’s all that matters, right?
This Reverso Tribute Chronograph thing, they made it new in 2023. Steel or pink gold, whatever that is. Sounds expensive. This copy is good, though. Real good. It is like the first one they made. I like that. Old things got quality, not like the junk they make today.
They made four new ones this year, these Jaeger-LeCoultre folks. All fancy and new. This one though, it’s special. They only made a few, and it’s all pink gold. Like that one lady’s ring, the one who always comes to church with the big hat. Showy, but kinda nice.
This watch is like something from the old days
They say this Reverso thing is a “classic.” Like them old pictures, all fancy lines and such. This one, it’s pink gold, all over. The case, the dial, even the insides, which they call a “Calibre 860.” Don’t know what that means, but it sounds important.
I don’t know much about these fancy watches. But this one, it’s got a charm to it. Like an old friend, kinda. It is a good watch, even if it is not real. It looks good. People say it is good quality, even if it is a copy.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph Original order may not be a real one, but it’s good enough for me. It’s got that old-timey feel, you know?
